Anteneh LOVES this song from High School Musical (my kids have never even seen the movie but love the soundtrack). He makes me laugh-he and Luke get SO SERIOUS about this song when they play basketball. I wish Luke would have kept dancing. They had this whole court area set up and were both bouncing balls...haha

Come on! Get Your Head in the Game!
I got very wrapped up in working today and let the boys wander a little...sometimes this is not a good idea. In fact, most of the time I get sidetracked with work, it means trouble for two misteivious 5 year olds...but today this is what I found when I went out to the garage.

Preschool Graduation
The boys graduated from preschool Tuesday night. It was so cute! They stood there with their graduation caps on and recited their 16 bible verses they memorized this year, sang their songs, and did all the hand motions. So cute!
Luke's Birthday
Luke celebrated his 5th birthday Sunday! His birthday isn't actually until the 17th but Daryn left for Jamaica Monday and has to miss Luke's birthday so we celebrated early. It was so much fun!
Grandma read Luke's birthday card to him.
My sweet faced little boy!

Anteneh helped Luke examine his gifts.
This birthday we decided we were sick of cake! So, Luke requested M&M cookie ice cream sandwiches. So, I found an amazing M&M cookie recipe, we put some vanilla ice cream between them and they were AWESOME! Great idea, Lukie D!
I love this picture...one of Luke's favorite gifts was the marble racer set we got him. Luke and Daddy built a huge marble tower after the party. And much to Luke's delight he got to stand on the table to help!

First Sack Lunch

I am pretty sentimental about some things...the first time Grace sang in a Christmas program at church I sobbed the entire time...there are little moments in my kids' lives that make me feel so sentimental...some moments even are bigger than that first step or first word.
For instance, I can remember Grace's first lie very clearly. She was 3 and we had gone through the bank drive through. She wanted to hold the sucker and I said, "Grace, that's fine but you can't eat it"...she held it while I drove....I thought she was doing well...a mile down the road I said, "Grace, you aren't eating your sucker are you?" she says, "oh, no Mommy-I'm not"...I look in the rear view mirror and she's violently sucking on it-trying to get it to disappear before I see her! This reminds me of yesterday when I couldn't find Anteneh for 10 minutes and later found a cup of water under the end table in the family room and an empty box to a big chocolate bunny next to it...I mean, come on, son-at LEAST hide the evidence. OK...I'm off subject...
So, back to being sentimental. Well, today I'm making the boys' FIRST SACK LUNCH for school! They are still only in Pre-K but they are going on an all day field trip to the zoo tomorrow and I have to pack them a lunch (entirely disposable so we will not be able to use the reusable lunch boxes we have or the great cotton reusable baggies Tracey got us. Bummer...but...
While we will be doing some poluting tomorrow, I am SO EXCITED...I love making my kids lunch for school. I love to imagine their faces as they pull food out of the bag-wondering what I packed for them...Here are the bags I'm decorating for them...they can't read yet so I can't put a little note in them but they can read their names and I hope will feel extra special that I decorated them and put bows around the baggies of oreos!
I'm such a sap. I love this stuff...I mean, I actually took a picture of brown bags for a blog post. haha

Happy Easter!
Happy Easter, everyone!
"The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him'" Matthew 28:5-7

Dirt Pies and Fun
I never know what the boys are going to get into when I let them out of the cage-oops-I mean, let them outside. haha.
Yesterday it was very windy and some old flower pots got blown over leaving potting soil all over the back porch. Of course, what else is there to do with dirt besides....
I have been such a slacker blogger...here are some pictures from Grace's 7th Birthday Party, too...
